Take a Seat for Alexandria
Me @ the Beatley Library, Alexandria, VA
Found some glitter stickers…
My entry for “Take a Seat for Alexandria” is finally complete! An upcycled chair was covered with… upcycled greeting cards.
I had tons of greeting cards in my storage piling up, so I cut them into squares/rectangles to create several mosaics.
The theme was “America 250.” This isn’t my first time creating an America-centric art project (see my American Soul painting).
This project took over a month to complete over approximately… 30ish hours? In 1-4 hour increments, of course!
I was so relieved to finally complete it. Am so proud!
What’s an American project without fireworks?
The Cherry Blossoms in a tree hanging over the Tidal Basin.
The Cherry Blossoms. Perfect for the touristy-est time of year for Washingtonians!
Cut out the 250 using more greeting card fragments!
The American Flag. I painted rainbow star stickers using gesso to make them white.
Art League 2026 Student/Faculty Show
Hello, all! I’ve finally made a comeback and had my drawing, “Bottles" in an art show; my first one in two years. I did in my class, “Drawing into Painting” at the Art League School here in Alexandria, Virginia.
My drawing, of course, is the one on the left. Will post the full version to my “Gallery” once I take it out of the frame. Enjoy!
Next up will be “Take a Seat for Alexandria” in the coming month. Now to finish decorating my chair…
